Summary[]
Ray is rebuilding his life both personally and professionally in New York City. After being rescued from a plummet into the East River, his savior, a cop named Mac, brings Ray into the fraternity that is the Staten Island Police Department. While exploring this new world of brotherhood and corruption, Ray finds himself once again working for media mogul Sam Winslow. Sam has teamed up with New York City mayoral candidate Anita Novak, a partnership that puts Ray at odds with his new friends out in Staten Island.[1]
Bunchy breaks his father Mickey out of a hospital after being the only Donovan son to attend to him. He knocks a guard out which allows Mickey to evade his jail sentence for the actions of Daryll the season prior. The two make their way over to Staten Island where Mickey's sister-in-law Sandy Patrick is introduced for the first time. Mickey would later hatch a plan to get ransom money from Sam Winslow through Ray's connection.
Bunchy would go to pick up the bag of money from Ray as to not draw too much attention with Mickey out of jail. Despite Ray trying to convince Bunchy to walk away, he would stay loyal to Mickey. Sandy would later be unable to resist the temptation to take the money herself.
Eventually, Bunchy would see Sandy's car by chance and take back the money (being tracked by Ray and Lena) back. Sandy would state she hadn't spent much of the cash and the friends she wanted to impress with it were all gone.
Actress Sandy Martin on why the Donovans went to her house in Staten Island:[]
"I just think they need a hideout and remember that their long lost brother Cormac had a widow and she was a live wire and a lot of fun. But that’s not their first reason for looking her up! The first reason is that nobody would ever think to take the house of a widower from the Vietnam war which was so many years ago. They were smart to figure out to go to her house." [2]
